Bhadrak: The Block Development Officer (BDO) of Basudevpur block in Bhadrak district today tested positive for deadly COVID-19. This was informed by Bhadrak Collector Gyana Das in a tweet.
Das further stated the Basudevpur block office has been shut on August 11 and 12 after the BDO was found to be infected with the virus.
Also, the district administration declared a shutdown in Chandbali NAC area after eight COVID-19 cases were detected in the area. The shutdown restrictions will be in force in Chandbali from 6 pm on August 12 to 5 am on August 17.
During the shutdown all medical establishments including government and private hospitals, clinics, nursing home will remain open. Medicine store can open till 10 pm. However, medicine store within CHC will function 24/7. This apart, water supply, sanitation, sewerage workers and employees engaged in power utilities will be exempted from the shutdown restrictions.
Home delivery of groceries, vegetables, milk and milk products will be allowed till 6 pm with due permission from local authority, the order stated.
Banks, post office and postal services and telecom services will be allowed to operate with bare minimum staff.
State government establishments will also be allowed to function during the restriction period.
Operations of bus terminals and their associated offices, movement of associated personnel and activities and road transport and movement of transiting vehicles will be allowed.
Economic and other activities including construction activities and petrol pumps will also be allowed to operate.
