Odisha: BJD appoints coordinator for Patkura election

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today appointed former MLA Utkal Keshari Parida as party’s coordinator for election to the Patkura Assembly Constituency.

Parida, who was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Kendrapara constituency in 2004 elections, has been given the new charge by BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik. The ex-legislator had joined the conch party in April after resigning from the BJP.

The party had yesterday announced names of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming poll, which is scheduled to be held on July 20. Counting of votes and declaration of results will take place on July 24.
