Odisha BJD MLA candidate Jagannath Saraka opposed in home turf over drinking water crisis

Rayagada: Jagannath Saraka, ruling BJD-fielded candidate from Bissam Cuttack Assembly constituency segment was opposed today morning in his home turf by several local women over alleged drinking water crisis, when the sitting legislator was on his way to attend an inclusion ceremony.

According to a private source, inclusion ceremony of the party was scheduled to be held in Palkapada. The women residents of Raghubari village under Muniguda block of Rayagada district agitated on the road by keeping empty water containers as a token of their protest. Despite running from pillar to post, their long-standing demand for drinking water has not been met yet, the locals alleged.

A youth from Raghubari village, who was capturing videos on his mobile phone was attacked by some supporters of the BJD candidate. The youth has been identified as Harekrushna Behera.

Allegedly, the supporters of Saraka broke Harekrushna’s mobile phone and assaulted him.
