“The IAS officer arrested by Vigilance was an agent of Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and collecting money for him,” alleged BJP state vice president Samir Mohanty.

"The IAS officer was arrested as sharing of money with the Industries Minister could not be decided. We demand a transparent probe into the sharing of money between the two," he added.

He also demanded to bring Minister Prafulla Mallick under the purview of investigation in the killing of BJP activist Salman Rout in Tarabha village in Dhenkanal district.

Criticising the linking of the arrested IAS officer with Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, BJD spokesperson Shashi Bhusan Behera said the allegations by Mohanty are baseless.

Countering Mohanty, Behera said BJP leaders are habitual of making baseless allegations.
