Bhubaneswar: The BJP government in Odisha is scheduled to present the Budget for 2024-2025 financial year in the Assembly on July 25.

The Budget will be tabled in the first session of the 17th Assembly, scheduled to commence on July 22.

Governor Raghubar Das will address the House on the opening day. The election of the Deputy Speaker is scheduled to be held on July 24.

The first session of the Assembly will continue till September 13 with a break from August 1 to 19.

The BJP formed government for the first time in Odisha after the party won 78 of the total 147 Assembly seats in the state in the 2024 polls.

Notably, the previous BJD government in the state had presented an interim Budget of Rs 1.18 lakh crore for the first four months of 2024-25 fiscal in the Assembly in February this year.

The BJD government had tabled an interim Budget instead of a full one in view of the impending Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the state.
