Odisha BJP MLA candidate Nayan Mohanty opposed during inclusion ceremony

Cuttack: Nayan Kishore Mohanty, BJP-fielded candidate from Choudwar-Cuttack Assembly constituency segment was opposed today evening from within the party during an inclusion ceremony.

According to a source, some BJP workers from the constituency opposed his candidature and demanded the same to be withdrawn soon. This triggered tension in the area and led to a scuffle between some supporters of Mohanty and several others opposing him. A youth was hit on his head leading to severe bleeding in the incident. The injured was rescued by police and was rushed to a hospital.

“We are prepared to shed our blood and sweat for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Even to the extent we are prepared to die for the party but will save BJP at any cost. Nayan Mohanty spoiled the constituency and has previously lost the polls five times. Again, he has been given a party MLA ticket this time. His supporter Gagan Ojha attacked me when I was opposing in a disciplined way,” the injured said.

Worth mentioning, identity of the injured youth has not been ascertained yet.
