Odisha: BMC hosts US Consulate delegation, discusses Governance Excellence and Sustainable Urban Development

Bhubaneswar: A delegation of the US Consulate in Hyderabad, led by Consul General Ms. Jennifer Larson, had a meeting with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Sulochana Das and Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange, today.

The discussions centered on the civic body’s commendable governance practices, sustainability efforts, smart city initiatives, intensive community participation, and the existing partnerships with cities in the United States.

USG delegation present at the meeting includes Consul General Jennifer Larson, Political & Economic Officer Frank Talluto, Principal Commercial Officer Raghavan Srinivasan, Economic Advisor Siba Prasad Tripathy, and USAID Advisor Amrita Goswami.

During the meeting, the Mayor expressed gratitude by presenting a token of appreciation to Consul General Jennifer Larson.

In response, Ms. Larson conveyed her appreciation, stating, “Wonderful to meet with Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das and discuss the city’s visionary approaches to technology and environmental sustainability. Bhubaneswar showcases such a great balance between ancient heritage and modern infrastructure.”
