Odisha: Body of missing toddler found from pond; foul play suspected

Soro: The body of a toddler, who had gone missing from Raipur village under Soro area in Odisha’s Balasore district yesterday, was recovered from a pond near his house today.

A team of police and fire services personnel resumed a search operation today morning at various places to ascertain the whereabouts of the missing boy. The body was found in a pond near the house.

As injury marks were found on the body, it is suspected that the baby was thrown into the pond after the murder. The exact cause of death will be revealed after the post-mortem.

According to reports, the 2.5-year-old baby Subham, the son of Mohan Sahoo of Raipur village, was playing near his house yesterday. Mohan’s daughter called the family members after she did not find him near the house. The family members searched for the baby everywhere and later informed the police, suspecting kidnapping.
