Odisha: Body of woman nurse found stuffed in sack on river bed

Jagatsinghpur: The body of a nurse who has been missing since September 9 was found today on Biluakhai river bed near Nuapari area in Jagatsinghpur district today. Initially locals spotted the body stuffed in a sack this morning and informed police about the matter.

After receiving information, police along with scientific team reached the spot and initiated probe.

The deceased was identified as Niharika Patra, a native of Bhingarpur village of Khurda district. She was working as a nurse at a private nursing home in Cuttack for past few months.

As per reports, Niharika was missing since September 9 and a complaint was lodged by her family members at Madhupatna police station in Cuttack. They had alleged that she was murdered by her male friend.

The post mortem report will elicit the cause of Niharika’s death, said a police official.
