Odisha: Body of youth found on railway track near Lingaraj station in State Capital

Bhubaneswar: A youth was spotted by some locals while lying on a railway track with his face on the ground under mysterious circumstances near Lingaraj station in Bhubaneswar, today morning. The youth might have fallen off a moving train late yesterday night, the locals suspected.

The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet. The youth’s face has sustained severe injuries beyond recognition and the right leg was broken from near hip joint, a senior cop said.

On being informed, Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and seized the youth’s body. Police have launched a probe to ascertain the actual cause behind the untimely death.

“The body was found in between Lingaraj station and Kargil slum. An unnatural death (U/d) case has been registered and a detailed investigation initiated, which is underway,” the cop stated.

The age of the youth would be around 30 years. The body has been sent to Capital Hospital in Unit-6 locality of Bhubaneswar for post-mortem and a report is awaited, the senior policeman added.
