Odisha boils as nine stations clock over 40 deg C

Bhubaneswar: Though weather bulletin for Odisha predicts thunderstorm for some areas in the state, there are other places that are reeling under the scorching sun, according to estimates of the Met Department.

Nine stations have touched the 40 degree Celsius mark today with Bolangir recording 42.2 degree Celcius, followed by Talcher and Angul at 42.1 degree Celsius.

The mercury touched 41.5 degree Celsius in Titlagarh, 41.2 degree Celsius in Malkangiri and 41.0 degree Celsius in Bhawanipatna.

Similarly, in western Odisha, temperature soared to 40.6 degree Celsius in Jharsuguda while maximum temperature in Sambalpur and Sonepur was recorded at 40.2 and 40.0 degrees Celsius, respectively.
