Odisha boy tops in JIPMER entrance exam with 99.99 percentile

Bhubaneswar: An Odisha boy has topped in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) – 2017 MBBS entrance examination, results of which were declared today.

Nipun Chandra bearing roll number 6020136 topped in the prestigious entrance examination with overall 99.9987843 percentile in the unreserved category.

The 17-year-old is a student of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur here.

Some of other Odisha students who have found place in top 500 are: Ashutosh Behera (139), Sthittapranjya Mohanty (198), Darpa Narayan Satpathy (219), Sabya Sarangi (290), Swasti Panda (306), Harsha Pattnaik (354), Tanaya Mohanty (442), Swikruti Mohapatra (482), and Anoop Kumar Jena (484).

It may be mentioned here that the entrance examination for admission into undergraduate course was held on June 4 to fill 200 seats at JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal. As many as 1,89,663 aspirants had registered for the entrance exam out of which 1,49,450 appeared at 339 test venues in 75 cities.
