Odisha Budget 2020-21 at a glance

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari today presented the State Budget 2020-21 in the Assembly. During the first Budget of the fifth term of Naveen Patnaik-led government, the State Finance Minister presented the budget in electronic manner for the first time.

Here are the key highlights of the State Budget 2020-21:

• KALIA Scheme gets an allocation of Rs 3195 crore
• ‘Paramparagat Krishi Vikash Yojana’ gets Rs.40 crore
• National Horticulture Mission allocated Rs 123 crore
• Farmers’ Producers Organisations (FPOs) get Rs 60 crore
• Construction of “In-stream Storage Structures” proposed with total investment plan of Rs 12,000 crore
• Water Sector Infrastructure Development Programme gets Rs 910 crore
• Parvati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme allocated Rs 540 crore
• Under Biju Krushak Vikas Yojana 1250 community lift points will be installed at Rs 360 crore
• Command Area Development Programme gets Rs 300 crore
• Nabakrushna Choudhury Secha Unayana Yojana allocated Rs 635 crore
• Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana gets allocation of Rs 700 crore
• Fisheries and Animal Husbandry sector allocated Rs 1211 crore

Health Sector budget doubled to Rs.7,700 crore

BSKY – Rs.1,108 crore
Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Seva Mission – Rs 578 crore
SCB Medical College to get Rs.1,000 crore
Nirmal Scheme – Rs 360 crore
Allocation for setting up of 7 new medical colleges – Rs 562 crore
ESI scheme to get allocation of Rs 47 crore

Education and Skill Development: FM proposes an allocation of Rs.22,631 crore

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya gets Rs 400 crore
Samagra Sikshya Abhijan – Rs 3,157 crore
MDM – Rs 800 crore and for LPG connections Rs 8 crore
Mo School Programme – Rs 40 crore
Mo College Abhijan – Rs 10 crore
Gangadhar Meher Sikhya Manakbrudhi Yojana – Rs 231 crore
Construction of hostel for Tribal girls and urban hostel – Rs 277 crore

Jal Jeevan Mission – Rs.2,000 crore
