Sundargarh: Top bureaucrats today visited Sundargarh district to take stock of healthcare facilities at state-run hospitals under Mo Sarkar programme.
A three-member team comprising Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s 5T Secretary VK Pandian, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) Managing Director Shalini Pandit and Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra arrived at Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) to review implementation of Mo Sarkar initiative in the morning.
The trio visited several wards including the postnatal ward and interacted with the patients to know the kind of facilities being provided to them at the hospital.
Sources said that Pandian expressed displeasure over some lapses in healthcare services during inspection following which CDMO in-charge Pankaj Patel was placed under suspension and the collector was issued a showcause notice for improper implementation of Mo Sarkar programme at the DHH.
Later, the team headed for Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) for review of the programme.
Notably, Pandian along with bureaucrats were found in action mode following launch of Mo Sarkar initiative on Gandhi Jayanti to make the governance people-centric.
By the instruction of the CM, the IAS officials holding top positions in bureaucracy are visiting several districts to oversee ground situation of healthcare facilities at government hospitals.
