Odisha By-polls 2020: Notification issued, nominations from today

Bhubaneswar: Election Commission (EC) today issued notification for by-elections to Tirtol and Balasore Assembly Constituencies, scheduled to be held on November 3.

The process for filing of nomination papers began today. Last date for filing of nominations is October 16. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on October 17.

Odisha govt shifts 2 district Collectors as per ECI order

Immediately transfer 2 District Collectors and 6 senior police officials: ECI to Odisha Govt

The last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 19.

The polling will be held from 7 am to 6 pm on November 3 while counting of votes will take place on November 10, the ECI had informed earlier.

For the first time, the voting time has been increased by an hour. The election will be completed by November 12.

It is pertinent to mention here that by-elections to the two Assembly seats were necessitated after demise of former Balasore MLA Madan Mohan Dutta and Tirtol ex-MLA Bishnu Charan Das
