Odisha bypolls: BJD, BJP release star campaigners lists

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today released their lists of star campaigners for the upcoming bye-elections to Balasore and Tirtol Assembly seats in Odisha.

While actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty has been exempted from campaigning for the BJD candidates this time, no union minister in the BJP outside Odisha has been included in the BJP’s 30-member star campaigners list.

Chief Minister and BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik continues to be in top of the list to campaign for the party candidates for the bypolls, whereas union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi are in the list to campaign for the BJP nominees.

Worth mentioning, the BJD has nominated Swarup Kumar Das for Balasore Assembly bypoll and Bijaya Shankar Das for bye-election to Tirtol Assembly Constituency. The BJP has fielded Manas Kumar Dutta for Balasore and Raj Kishore Behera for Tirtol bypoll.
