Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today recommended a proposal for inclusion of Saora language in the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India.

Inclusion of Saora language in the 8th schedule of Indian Constitution will ensure certain benefits to the people of Saora tribe of Odisha, said Law Minister Jagannath Saraka.

It will help preserve, promote and propagate Saora language and culture.

Activities like publication, creation of contents and recognition will get momentum due to the inclusion of Saora language in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.

The inclusion will create an ecosystem to facilitate research and studies anchored around preservation, promotion and propagation of Saora language, said the Law Minister.

“More than 5 lakh indigenous people will be benefitted with this decision,” Saraka added.
