Odisha Cabinet reshuffle tomorrow; Know oath taking time and other details here

Bhubaneswar: Following resignation of Odisha Assembly Speaker and two ministers, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is all set to reshuffle his cabinet tomorrow on May 22 (Monday).

As per schedule, the swearing-in ceremony of newly inducted members of the council of ministers will be held at 9.30 am at Convention Centre of Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on May 22.

At 9.30 am, the ministers-designate will be escorted to the function and will be received by the principal secretary of the state parliamentary affairs department. At 9.40 am, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will reach the venue. Five minutes later, Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal will be received by Chief Secretary and escorted to the VIP lounge. At 9.50 am, Chief Secretary will obtain Governor’s permission to commence the oath-taking ceremony following which he will read out the order of appointment. The Governor will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers-designate.

Worth mentioning that three ministerial berths are lying vacant following the death of Health minister Naba Kishore Das and the resignation of two ministers – School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash and Labour minister Srikant Sahu.

The post of Speaker is also vacant after the resignation of Bikram Keshari Arukha a few days ago.

Recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave additional charge of School & Mass Education and Labour departments to Revenue Minister Pramila Mallick. Earlier, Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari was allocated the additional charge of Health & Family Welfare Department following murder of Naba Das.
