Odisha cancels global e-tender floated for supply of Covid vax

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today cancelled its global e-tender floated for supply of Covid-19 vaccine. The government had invited the e-tender on May 14, 2021 for supply of 3.8 crore doses of the vaccine.

The Odisha State Medical Corporation Ltd (OSMCL), a government of Odisha undertaking, had floated the global e-tender on behalf of the State government.

In order to attract vaccine manufacturers to participate in the bid process, the OSMCL had made some amendments.

The State’s decision to cancel the global e-tender comes after the Central government launched a centralized free Covid-19 vaccine programme for 18+ age group from June 21, 2021.
