Odisha capital to host Make in India conference in Dec

Odisha capital will host a two-day ‘Make in India’ conference in December to attract industry and bring investments to the state, Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi said today.

The State Government will focus on Make in Odisha during the two-day long conference scheduled to be held on December 1 and 2, said Padhi speaking to reporters after a preparatory meeting held here today.

“The first preparatory meeting was held today. It was attended by the Joint Secretary of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion Atul Chaturvedi. We will hold the conference on December 1 and 2 in Bhubaneswar,” he said.

“The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) global will hold a startup conference and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise Enterprise Odisha at the same time. The primary focus will be Make in Odisha to promote investment in the state across priority sectors,” Padhi added.

“Odisha unit of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and CII were part of the meeting today. We plan to showcase Odisha as a destination point for investment. We expect both public and private sector enterprises to take part in it,” said FICCI Odisha State Council head Sanjeev Kumar Mohanty.
