Odisha capital hottest city in India

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar was the hottest city in the country recording the highest temperature 39.8 degree Celsius on Tuesday.

The denizens in the city experienced heat wave between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm.

The hot wind blowing from west region with less speed was the reason behind increasing temperature in Odisha, said IMD.

Apart from Bhubaneswar, Talcher was the second hottest place in India with maximum temperature 39.6 degree Celsius yesterday.

Total 18 cities in Odisha registered the temperature above 35 degree Celsius yesterday. While Titlagarh recorded the maximum temperature 39 degree C, Hirakud 38.9 degree C, Malkangiri 38.8 degree C, Jharsuguda 38.5 degree C, Balangir 38.4 degree C, Sonepur 37.8 degree C, Sambalpur and Dhenkanal 37.7 degree C, Cuttack and Chandbali 37.2 degree C and Sundergarh 37 degree C.

The temperature will rise till March 27, the IMD predicted.

However, the nor’wester is likely to occur at few places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore districts between March 23 and 24.
