Bhubaneswar: Odisha's capital city Bhubaneswar has secured second position in terms of public transport reliability in the country, as per India’s first Ease of Mobility Index-2018 released by Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways, Shipping and Water Resources Nitin Gadkari.
The Index offers a source of information to aid transit agencies and urban planners to make informed decisions and align solutions with the preference of commuters. The report has been prepared by Ola Mobility Institute - Ola’s research and social innovation arm.
According to the report, public transport was found affordable and reasonable by 67 percent residents of Bhubaneswar. The report further revealed that 69 percent residents use public transport while 60 percent of trips are on foot, pedal, cycle rickshaws, buses and auto-rickshaws.
Improvement in state of mobility in Bhubaneswar was felt by 77 percent residents, the report said.
