Odisha capital reports 50 fresh COVID-19 cases

Bhubaneswar:  Like the BMC Commissioner recently said,  COVID-19 situation in Odisha capital has become ‘alarming’. Of the 51 highest positive cases reported from Khordha district today, 50 belongs to Bhubaneswar city.

As per the information shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), the city reported 50 new positive cases and 10 recovered cases.  Of the fresh positive cases, 46 are local contact cases and remaining four are quarantine cases that are linked with earlier positive cases.

Highest seven cases (local contact cases) have been reported from Rasugarh area, followed by four from Sijua and three each from Palasuni, Old Town, Pandra and Baramunda.

Today, the state registered 210 fresh cases taking the toll to 3,39,904. Khordha district registered the highest of 51 fresh COVID cases followed by Nuapada district (23) and Cuttack district (19).

A total of 29,128 samples were tested in the state yesterday.
