Odisha capital wakes up to dense fog; rain on cards for several districts from today

Bhubaneswar: Residents of Bhubaneswar woke up to dense fog on Friday morning with a visibility of less than 100 metre.

Vehicular traffic on streets as well as air traffic were affected due to poor visibility caused by foggy condition.

Meanwhile, the regional meteorological centre in Bhubaneswar forecast moderate rainfall under influence of western disturbance from today till January 25.

Jan 21-22: Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha. During the period, shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Sonepur and Balangir.

Jan 22-23: Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Deogarh and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Jan 23-24: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and at one or two places over the rest districts Odisha.

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara.

Jan 24-25: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
