Odisha: Car smuggling ganja meets with accident in Angul

Angul: A car smuggling ganja weighing over 1.5 quintal met with an accident at Satsang Bihar under Athamallick police limits in Angul district today. Two persons, who were smuggling the cannabis in the vehicle, sustained critical injuries in the mishap.

Sources said three ganja smugglers were travelling in the car en-route to Bhubaneswar from Phulbani of Kandhamal district at around 6.30 AM today. However, the driver lost control over the vehicle following which it skidded off the road and rammed into a tree on the roadside.

While two occupants were critically injured in the mishap, another sustained minor injuries. The two critically-injured were later admitted to a hospital.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and began an investigation. The cops also interrogated the detainees in connection with the incident.
