Odisha CB takes gangster Tito on fresh 4-day remand

Kendrapara: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch today took notorious gangster Sayed Usman Ali alias Tito on a fresh four days remand.

The dreaded criminal was produced before the Kendrapara SDJM Court earlier in the day today on completion of his first round of five-day remand.

The STF had prayed for another 10-day remand to interrogate Tito in order to extract more leads for further investigation. The SDJM Nihar Ranjan Sahu, however, granted for four-day remand.

Sources said, the STF will probe the crime and properties of the gangster and also his various business interests in and out of the State during the four days remand. The value of total assets of the gangster is estimated to above Rs 100 crores, the sources added.

Crime Branch is likely to seek court permission to attach properties of the gangster. The STF is also investigating the monetary transaction of the Kolkata-based gangster.

Yesterday, the STF had discovered that Tito has a land worth Rs 1.5 crore in Kolkata and Rs 66 lakh was credited to his bank account from his wife’s account back in 2016. Besides, the STF seized an Audi car worth over Rs 50 lakh from his possession.

During the five-day remand, the STF sealed a real estate office, a petrol pump, a garment shop, a bike showroom and seized 17 tippers, a trailer and eight excavators from his possession.
