Odisha CBSE results fiasco: Girl student attempts suicide

Bhubaneswar: With reduction in marks of some students after re-evaluation of their CBSE Class-XII exam answer sheets, a girl student attempted to commit suicide here today.

According to reports, the girl tried to take the extreme step by consuming excess medicine.

She has been admitted to a private hospital here, reports added.

Worth mentioning, the CBSE last night e-mailed re-evaluated marks to the 18 students who had moved the Orissa High Court seeking re-evaluation of their answer sheets.

While marks of some students have dropped as compared to their previous scores, some of them have secured more marks, reports said, adding that marks of some students have remained the same.

The CBSE had received the High Court order to re-evaluate the answer sheets of 18 students and publish results by June 10.

The board had submitted the results sheets in the court on Saturday.

Notably, results of many students in Bhubaneswar zone of the board have been kept withheld.

Similarly, many students have complained of faulty evaluation leading to their poor marks.
