Bhubaneswar: Ganesh Puja also known as Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated with religious fervour across Odisha, today.
Several decorated pandals with huge idols of Lord Ganesh have been set up at various places across the state, including Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, Khordha and Rourkela.
In the capital city, people were seen thronging Puja pandals set up at Rupali Square, Janpath, Madhusudan Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Unit-4 and Unit-8 to offer prayer to Lord Ganesh.
Besides, schools, colleges and youth clubs organised special Puja to mark the festival. Students wearing new clothes were seen participating in special Puja in schools and colleges.
The festival marks the beginning of festive season in Odisha.
Internationally acclaimed sand artist of Odisha, Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand art on the occasion at Puri beach using 1000 plastic bottles with a message of avoiding usage of plastic and saving the environment.
