Odisha chit fund scam: Court awards 3-year jail term to Nabadiganta boss

Bhubaneswar, May 12:

A local court in Odisha capital today awarded three-year jail term to the prime accused in the multi-crore Nabadiganta chit fund scam, Anjan Baliarsingh, three days after he pleaded guilty of all charges.

Special CBI court sentenced Baliarsingh, chairman and managing director of Nabadiganata Capital Services Pvt Ltd, to three-year jail term.

Besides, the court also directed to deposit Rs 10 crore with court’s registry which shall be paid to the depositors as compensation as per the law.
