Odisha chit fund scam: Arrest ‘main conspirators’, says Seashore head

Prashant Dash, CMD of Seashore group of companies,who is in jail for over a year now in connection with the Odisha chit fund scam, today created a flutter by calling for the arrest of the ‘main conspirators’ of the scam.

“These conspirators, who are highly influential persons, have played a big role in the affairs of the Seashore group. They have already been grilled by the CBI and may have to appear before the agency again,” Dash told media persons while leaving the District and Session Judge court here after his production in the special CBI court today.

“I have given all the details to the CBI during my remand period and they are investigating into the matter,” the Seashore head said.

Dash did not name these ‘main conspirators’, setting tongues wagging in the process. Some believed he was hinting at his erstwhile mentor Pyari Mohan Mohapatra while others thought it was an attempt to muddy the waters and send the investigators on a wild goose chase.

” I will move the Supreme court for return of money to depositors,” Dash said.

He will be produced in the Special CBI court next on January 13, 2015
