Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Tapas Paul, who has been arrested over his alleged involvement in the Rose Valley Group chit fund scam today, made an explosive statement alleging complicity of Union Minister Babul Supriyo from the BJP in the scam.
Paul alleged that it was Supriyo who has falsely implicated him in the scam. He said several other influential persons too were involved in the scam.
“I am not guilty. ‘Am absolutely not guilty, it is Babul Supriyo who has implicated me. Babul Supriyo and several others are involved in the scam. He has worked in films produced by the Group and stay in luxury hotels run by it. The Group’s chief used to introduce him as his family member. I again repeat am not guilty. Everything will be proved later,” Paul told the reporters while getting into a car of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here after a health check-up in a hospital.
The Special CJM CBI court here had yesterday granted the Central investigating agency a three-day remand of TMC MP.
The CBI, probing into the mega ponzi scam, had yesterday brought Paul to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata.
The Bengali cine star, who was summoned by the CBI had presented himself at the investigating agency’s regional office in Kolkata on Friday and was arrested after questioning.
