Justice M M Das Commission of Inquiry probing the mega chit fund scam in Odisha has issued notices to ten more firms.
With this, the number of chit fund firms served with notices after second phase scrutiny of affidavits reached 147.
The Commission of Inquiry is serving notices to chitĀ fund firms after scrutinizing 61, 252 affidavits filed between 22 August 2013 to 31 August 2013 after identifying small investors affected by these firms.
The ten chit fund firms served with notices are Nabadeep Services Pvt Ltd, PACL India Ltd, Micro Leasing & Funding Ltd, Milan Corporation Ltd, Morning Star Infra, Mattoo Marketing Pvt Ltd, Milan & Milan International Pvt Ltd, Mass Future Capital Trading Pvt Ltd, Magnus Infra Projects Ltd and M Power Trade Link Pvt Ltd.
The Commission of Inquiry has ordered officials or representatives of these firms to appear before it on December 28 and 30 and show cause during the hearing on the demands of the small investors.
It may be mentioned here that while a total of 8, 17,253 affidavits were received by the Commission of Inquiry, 26,976 were scrutinized in the first phase.
