Odisha chit fund scam: Seashore invested Rs 9 cr in city tech college !

Continuing with its crackdown on the Seashore Group of Companies as part of its ongoing probe into the mega chit fund scam in Odisha, the CBI has found that the company had made a huge investment in a technical institute here.

A senior official of the central investigative agency said the Bhubaneswar Institute of Technology (BIT) was among the several Seashore-linked locations raided simultaneously yesterday.

During verification of documents at the BIT office, it was found that the Seashore CMD Prasant Kumar Das had provided Rs 9 crore to the institute.

“Taking a lead on the findings, we are planning to investigate some other technical institutes,” he added.
