A five-member team of Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) today grilled Artha Tatwa (AT) Group CMD Pradeep Sethy in connection with multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha.
The SFIO team interrogated Sethy and others at Jharpada Special Jail here.
The investigation has been started since yesterday. It will continue till 3-4 days, said SFIO Assistant Director Manoj Sahoo after interrogating Sethy.
"We will investigate which rule has been violated by the AT group under the Companies Act", he added.
Earlier, Sethy had alleged that two ministers in the ruling party had taken chit fund money from him.
Notably, the Special CBI Court in Bhubaneswar has ordered the SFIO to interrogate Pradeep Sethy, Jyoti Prakash Patnaik, Srikrushna Padhi, Deepak Parekh and Manoj Patnaik. All the five were directors in various AT Group companies. AT Group was a major player in the mega chit fund scam in Odisha. All the five are currently lodged in jail.
The Court has directed the SFIO to interrogate the five accused and submit a report within a month.
