Odisha cine dialogue writer Subodh Patnaik passes away

Cuttack: Eminent theatre personality and Odia cinema dialogue writer Dr Subodh Patnaik passed away at his Khannagar residence in Cuttack this morning. He was 65.

A doctor by profession, Patnaik earned accolades for his theatrical skills, screenplay and dialogue writing.

His first movie as a dialogue writer was ‘Danda Balunga’, released in 1984. Patnaik never looked back from then and went on to pen dialogues for over 60 Odia movies and more than 30 television serials.

Other notable movies in which he he contributed as dialogue writer are Janani, Jaga Hatare Pagha, Chaka Bhaunri, Mamatara Dori, Mamata Mage Mula, Chaka Akhi Sabu Dekhuchi, Jai Phula, Papa Punya, Aama Ghara Aama Sansara, Suna Sansara, Ganga Jamuna, Maa Pari Kie Haba, E Jugara Krushna Sudama, I Love You and Om Sai Ram.

A pall of gloom descended on the Ollywood industry after the sudden demise of Patnaik.
