Odisha: Class 10 student meets with accident on way to exam center     

Dhenkanal:  In an unfortunate incident, a Class 10 student of Muktapasi High School in Dhenkanal district could not appear in the annual HSC Examination that began today after he was injured in a road mishap near Barihapur under Parjang police limits on NH-53 on his way to the exam centre.

The student identified as Bulu Nayak, a resident of Kamarda village, has been admitted to a hospital as he has sustained grievous leg injuries in the mishap.

Sources said Bulu was riding pillion on a bike with his two family members to reach the examination centre at Kankadasoda this morning. However, a speeding truck coming from opposite direction hit the bike at Barihapur. All three of them, including Bulu’s brother Shantanu, who was riding the bike, and father Maheswar, sustained critical injuries in the mishap. Soon after, the truck driver fled the spot.

Later, fire services personnel rescued the three injured and admitted them to Parjang Community Health Centre (CHC). Bulu’s brother Shantanu was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.
