Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi advised the officials concerned to prepare a populist budget for the State for FY 2024-25, following a high-level review meeting of the Planning & Convergence department held in Bhubaneswar today.

Trauma Care Centres should be set up in the mineral-rich districts of Odisha by utilising District Mineral Foundations (DMF) funds. A task force should be constituted to establish Development Councils in Northern and Southern Odisha. Steps should also be taken in thorough compliance with the recent Sankalp Patra (election manifesto) of BJP for the State, the CM emphasised.

People of the State have lots of hopes and expectations from the new Government, which must be reflected in the upcoming Budget. The fiscal planning must stand up to their expectations and it should reach out to the grassroots level in a proper manner. “We all must give due importance to planning and act accordingly; so that, people get the benefits of it,” the CM expressed.

The Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, including several other senior officials of the Planning & Convergence department took part in the review meeting.
