Odisha CM announces ex-gratia for students killed in Binika accident

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his grief over the death of three school students in Binika area of Sonepur district today.

The Chief Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh to the next of the kin of deceased students.

The Chief Minister asked the officials concerned to arrange the best possible treatment for the injured student. He also announced an assistance of Rs 50,000 for the treatment of the injured student and wished for his speedy recovery.

Notably, three Class-VI students died and another sustained critical injuries as a car ran over them at Sharadhabali in Binika area of Sonepur today.

The incident took place when the students were standing near the school gate. A speeding car ran over them after hitting the boundary wall.

While one among them died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
