Odisha CM announces urban CHC to operate from old Bargarh HQ hospital building

Bhubaneswar: A 30-bedded urban community health centre (CHC) will function at the old building of the Bargarh district headquarters hospital. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today made the announcement keeping the larger interest of people in mind. Emergency and out-door patient (OPD) services will be provided at the urban CHC, he added.

This apart, ambulance and bus services will be provided to patients and their attendants for smooth conveyance between the old hospital and new district headquarters hospital.

Earlier in the day, Labour Minister Sushant Singh, Rajya Sabha member Prasanna Acharya, MLA Debesh Acharya and former Minister Bimbadhara Kunara met the Chief Minister at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar and apprised him about the suffering of people in reaching the new district headquarters hospital.

The Chief Minister told them the State government is sensitive towards the interest of people.

Couple of days back, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari also wrote to the Chief Minister mentioning about the difficulties faced by people. Also he requested for establishment of a city hospital in Bargarh town.
