Odisha CM appeals people not to panic in view of Amphan

Bhubaneswar: In view of the IMD forecast about a cyclonic circulation lashing Odisha districts during May 18 to 20, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appealed the people of the State not to panic and cooperate with the administration to tide over the situation.

During a review meeting with the Chief Secretary, senior officials and Collectors of the districts, which are likely to be affected by the cyclonic storm, through video conferencing here, the Chief Minister said, “I appeal to the people not to panic and cooperate with the administration to effectively manage the situation.”

He further said, “We have faced many very severe cyclones like Phailin, Hudhud, Titli, Fani and Bulbul and managed successfully.”

The chief minister directed the officials to make adequate relief provision for the affected people.

He empathically said, “As always saving lives is our priority. We should put our best efforts to save every precious human life.”

Patnaik directed the Chief Secretary to monitor the cyclone preparedness and the response activities
