Odisha CM bats for full exploitation of farming potential

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today exhorted farmers to fully exploit the farming potential of the State by taking advantage of the various programmes undertaken by the State government.

The Chief Minister while inaugurating a farmers’ awareness camp at the OUAT here claimed that he has always stressed on development of agriculture and welfare of farmers.

“The Krushak Sachetana Karyakram has been initiated to enhance the awareness level of farmers about various best practices in agriculture and allied activities. This will empower the farmers significantly. Farmers from all across the State will be trained through the programme,” Patnaik said briefing reporters after the inauguration.

At the camp, farmers from different blocks of the State will be sensitized about the various agriculture development programmes/schemes every day.

As many as 52 farmers of Balangir block took part at the camp today. At least two farmers from each panchayat under a block are participating in the camp.

Phase-wise farmers from all blocks will participate in the camp and deliberate with agriculture scientists on different agri-developmental schemes, organic farming, mechanization of farming, food processing and sale of agricultural produce.
