Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today condoled the demise of veteran Communist Party of India (CPI) leader and trade unionist Gurudas Dasgupta, who passed away in Kolkata today following a prolonged illness. He was 83.
The CM took to Twitter to express his deep grief and said Dasgupta was a popular trade union leader and feisty parliamentarian.
“Saddened to learn about the passing away of veteran CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta. He was a popular trade union leader and feisty parliamentarian. Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and followers,” Naveen tweeted.

Dasgupta, who died at his residence in Kolkata at 6 AM today, was suffering from lung cancer since months.
