Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the demise of Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar.

"Sad to hear the untimely passing away of Union Minister Shri Ananth Kumar. My condolences to the bereaved family and wish they get the strength to cope with such a great loss. May his soul rest in peace," the CM tweeted.

Kumar died today at a private hospital in Bengaluru due to multi-organ failure. He was 59. The Minister is survived by his widow Tejaswini and two daughters Aishwarya and Vijayeta.

Kumar, who represented the Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency since 1996, had undergone treatment for cancer in the UK and US since August.
