Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has congratulated renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik for winning gold medal at the International Sand Sculpture Championship in Russia.

“Pattnaik’s unique talent has fetched fame for him and also made Odisha proud. He is the pride of the entire country. Pattnaik has displayed his skills at many national and international competitions. We all hope that he will continue to do so in future,” said the Chief Minister in a statement.

Pattnaik won the gold medal at the International Sand Sculpture Championship in Russian city of St. Petersburg today.

Altogether 21 sand artists from across the world took part in the competition.

Pattnaik’s sand sculpture portraying Lord Jagannath’s chariot and his great devotee Balaram Das fetched him the gold medal.
