Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated various developmental projects to people on occasion of Local Self Government Day.
Gracing a state-level programme at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, Patnaik inaugurated ward offices under several urban local bodies including Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
He also flagged off the micro composting centres, BDA fast track building plan approval system and online marriage certificate provision in Bhubaneswar.
On the special occasion, the CM also disbursed Rs 10,000 online to 1369 street vendors in first phase out of 4103 small businessmen affected in cyclone FANI in Odisha.
Speaking on the occasion Patnaik again stressed on his government’s 5Ts (Technology, Transparency, Teamwork, Time and Transformation) formula and advised the civic bodies to discharge their duties keeping common people at centre.
“The citizen-centric governance is the chief goal of the local self government. The proper management of developmental projects is a challenge in urban areas. If we work for people by following 5Ts, we will definitely meet their need, which is our target,” he said.
He said that his government has set goal to make all the urban local bodies as waste-free towns in a year. He also asked to involve women in the programme.
Besides, Patnaik laid foundation stone to set up 342 micro compost units in 114 civic bodies and 40 septage treatment facilities at investment of Rs 70 crore in 26 municipalities.
