Odisha CM directs to evolve location specific strategy for four districts

Bhubaneswar: Strengthening Odisha’s fight against COVID-19 further, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed officials to prepare location specific strategy for four districts of the State.

During a review meeting on the COVID-19 situation in the State, Patnaik directed the officials to chalk out a location specific strategy for Khordha, Cuttack, Sundargarh and Rayagada districts.

Also, he ordered for setting up of another plasma bank at Koraput Medical College by next week. Till yet, five plasma therapy units have been set up in the State.

During the meeting Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy informed the Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET) has formed a multi-disciplinary technical team with Professors from seven medical colleges to suggest on ways to reduce the death rate in the State.

“They have continued to work to make treatment of COVID-19 more effective by providing appropriate advice in this regard,” the Chief Secretary said.

PK Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Health informed that a Plasma Storage Unit has been set up in Balasore for the treatment of Covid patients in Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Bhadrak.

Additional Chief Secretary cum Special Relief Commissioner PK Jena also provided information on corona management.
