Odisha CM distributes land patta to slum dwellers of 8 districts

Bhubaneswar:  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today distributed land records to slum dwellers of eight districts under the Jaga Mission at a special programme held in Puri today.

The CM handed over RoRs to slum dwellers of eight districts, including Puri, Balasore and Kendrapara. Sources said land patta will be provided to to highest 6,500 slums in Puri district. In Kendrapara, 187 slums out of 594 beneficiaries were provided with the land records today.

The programme aims at providing property rights to around 18 lakh urban slums residing in all municipal corporation and NAC areas in the State. The State Government has allocated Rs 100 crore for the programme during the 2018-19 financial year.

Under the programme, eligible beneficiaries will also get facilities like housing, drinking water, LED lights, toilets, etc.
