Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today expressed his grief over the tragic train accident near Kanpur that killed at least 96 passengers in the wee hours today.
Patnaik – who is in New Delhi to participate in a function as part of the Biju Centenary celebrations – took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his condolences for the victims.

It may be mentioned here that at least 96 people were killed and more than 150 injured when 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express derailed near the city of Kanpur before dawn today.
The horrific disaster took place when the Patna-bound train's coaches ran off the rails just after 3 a.m. near Pukhraya station, about 60 km from Kanpur city, railway and police officials said.
