Odisha CM felicitates Odia players of HIL champ Kalinga Lancers

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated four Odia players of Hockey India League (HIL)-2017 champion Kalinga Lancers in a special function at Jaydev Bhawan here.

Patnaik presented Dipsan Tirkey, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Anand Lakra and Amit Rohidas– the four Odia players– a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each.

Sports Minister Sudam Marandi, Rajya Sabha MP and former international hockey player Dilip Tirkey, Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and Sports Secretary Vishal Dev were present on the occasion.

Notably, Kalinga Lancers had defeated Dabang Mumbai 4-1 in the final to clinch their maiden title in the Coal India Hockey India League at the Chandigarh Hockey Stadium on February 26.
