After beholding moon last night, the Muslim people ended their 20-30-day long day fasting followed by mass prayers held in various mosques across the State.
Wearing new clothes and hugging each other, the Muslim brothers offered mass namaz (prayer) at mosques in Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda and Berhampur on the occasion of Eid marking end of holy month Ramadan.
The festival was observed with offering sweets, sweet dishes, biryani and varieties of food items to friends, relatives and others after holy prayers in the morning.
The Muslims stay on fast from dawn to dusk everyday for 29-30 days depending on the Islamic calendar. They take food and water after offering prayer in the evening.
